Sustainable French Fashion Brand Gaâla launches in SHOWFIELDS Miami, Florida
Gaâla is the meeting of two worlds – classic French aesthetic combined with the finest Belarusian craftsmanship and focuses on creating pieces that transcend time and trends; beautiful and sustainably crafted dresses and jumpsuits for both professional and everyday wear, that never go out of style. Founded by husband and wife duo, Kelly de Gaalon and Alexander Zhalezka who are constantly striving to become more sustainable.
The latest collection, available now at SHOWFIELDS, appeals to the modern, sophisticated woman and includes a selection of dresses, blouses, coats, trousers, and jumpsuits starting at $150.
Looking to make as small a footprint as possible Gaâla has chosen to use luxurious fabric remnants from Italy and other premium sources, that would in most cases be tossed into landfills, and repurpose them for their collections. Due to the use of deadstock material and the limited nature, sometimes as few as two or three pieces are produced from one fabric.
The brand personally handpicks a variety of cotton, viscose, silk, and wool fabrics leftover by Italian fashion houses and procure deadstock linen in Belarus, where linen has been the primary fabric for centuries. Each of the pieces is created in a small-scale workshop in Belarus where Gaâla provide a safe and ethical work environment with above average wages for each member of the team. They work alongside highly experienced tailors whose passion for their craft is truly reflected in the quality of their work.
Gaâla’s mantra and firm belief is “create for the needs of today while enabling the needs of future generations.” The brand is constantly adapting the way they work to become more sustainable within the circular economy.
