Beautiful women, velvet ropes, social butterflies, catwalks and just about every name in fashion flock to Miami to usher in Miami Fashion Week. The cheers, for models strutting their stuff down the runway….”You better werk!” I live for it all. Miami fashion week is not your typical set of fashion events; oh it’s far more than showcasing just swimwear. This is where internationally acclaimed trendsetting designers come together to showcase their electrifying fashion worthy collection. The fashion Week is set to kick off on June 1st and go throughout June 5th. Fashion lovers will be graced with a series of fashion shows, seminars, fancy dinners and after parties.
Miami Fashion Week, much like Miami, is influenced by the rich cultural melting pot that is housed in the beautiful city. In the past, we have seen a lot of amazing designers from parts of Latin America such as Brazil, Columbia, and Venezuela. However, this year is no different! Designers such as Agatha Ruiz De La Prada, Alvarno, Custo, Andres Sarda, Fisico, Claudia, Bertolero, Aguaclara, Ana Maria Guiulfo, Yirko and Rene Ruiz are all set to hit the runway with their fierce collection this year.
The great Antonio Banderas was recently named the new Honorary President and he disclosed, “We’re going to bring to fashion a new way of communicating. Questionably, Miami is a city in full swing with rapid growth in all areas that deserves to have a fashion event of the highest international level. This for me is a very exciting challenge indeed.”
For the opening kickoff party there will be a red carpet event that will host countless socialites, international press and designers. Fisico Fashions will be opening the runway and for the big closing we will be seeing designer Rene Ruiz and the grand closing party by Jencarlos Canela.
You know the saying, “Behind every good man is a great woman.” Well, behind every spectacular fashion show is a great team and undoubtedly Miami Fashion Week has that down packed. From master of runway, Sergio Salerni and world renowned fashion designer and illustrator Barbara Hulanicki to master of design and production Esma Proyectos, this event is indeed a show stopper. Get ready to experience artistic expression through eclectic designs, prints, meticulous details, bold colours, patterns and textures.
