Miami is definitely the ultimate hot spot for Spring Break but do remember to keep safe and watch your handbag and personal items when walking in the streets as it can get a little rowdy. It is, however, a fun experience with lots to do and many new people to meet.
Yacht Parties
If the sun is shining and there are clear skies, there will be many promoters offering yacht party services. You can either tag along to someone else’s party, where there may be a fee which usually includes alcohol, or you can rent a private yacht. These may come with packages, that include beverages, a host and/or jet skis.
The Heat Games
If you’re into basketball you can catch the game at the Airlines Arena. Miami Heat vs Charlotte Hornets is scheduled for Wednesday March 8th at 2:30pm, and then the Miami Heat vs Toronto Raptors is set for Saturday March 11th at 8:00pm. if you’re a tourist, look up which games are playing upon your arrival.
Seventh Annual Electric Beach Music Festival
For the EDM lovers, head towards Nikki Beach as this is the place to be on March 18th. It’s from 1:00pm-5:00am, with over 40 djs, a sea view and neon décor. If you get the limited early bird tickets they starting at around $20, otherwise general admission is $100. You have to be over 21 to attend.
Ocean Drive
The strip is busy all year around, but during Spring Break it’s absolutely packed. You have a variety of restaurant/bars such as Cleavelander’s, Mangos and Oceans 10 which all have live music. If you like hip hop, they recently opened a strip club called Vlive which is cosy, fun and there are usually celebrity appearances.
Miami is always filled with activities, events and parties to be explored so just search up what you’re into. Just by walking in the touristy areas, like South Beach, Brickell or Wynwood, you’re bound to find street promoters with various things to keep you busy. Also remember, that the prices always increase so make sure to budget well, and have a great time!
